The main producing region is located in North of Mexico City.
Only 2 mexican companies produce sparkling wines:
Freixenet of Mexico SA, subsidiary of spanish Group Freixenet, which produces less than 30 000 cases of sparkling wines a year.
The Cetto produces them in confidential ways.
The sparkling wine consumption
228 000 cases of sparkling wines in 2006, that represented an increase of 59 % during the 1998-2006 period .
The sparkling wine consumption represented only 5 % of wine consumption in Mexico in 2008.
